This is the perfect trip for the family visiting Joseph and Wallowa County for their summer vacation.

Our expert whitewater rafting guides will give you the opportunity to create your own adventure by allowing you to select from the following craft options: a single person inflatable kayak, a multi person whitewater paddle raft, or ride along in the guide boat. While on the river we enjoy easygoing class II whitewater, incredible scenery, opportunities to swim in our favorite swimming holes and a delicious river side lunch. There will also be many opportunities to view wildlife such as, Big Horn Sheep, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Deer, River Otters and the occasional Black Bear.
This unique weekend combination package will include all of the adventure of the River To Rails experience with the added bonus of a night at the Minam Motel in Minam, Oregon. This is the perfect weekend getaway for you and your family.
On the River to Rails expedition we will float down the roadless Wallowa River from Minam, Oregon to the confluence of the Grande Ronde River where we will meet the historic Eagle Cap Excursion Train and climb aboard for a scenic ride back up the canyon to Minam. On this unique adventure you will have the option to paddle a single person inflatable kayak or be a member of a whitewater paddle raft team.
These expeditions are offered on Saturdays from June 27th to August 1st depending on river flows. This weekend package will include a Friday or a Saturday night at Minam Motel with a River to Rails Excursion. We recommend reserving an additional night either at the Minam Motel or in Joseph at the Chandlers Inn B&B to enable you to enjoy the many other adventures in this incredible area. This unique expedition will include all of the adventure of our day trips with the added experience of a scenic train ride from the end of our float back to the launch site in Minam, Oregon. We meet in Joseph, OR at 9 am and return to Joseph by 5 pm. Lunch will be served riverside today.

You can enjoy this adventure as well. Paddle yourself, family and friends down this beautiful stretch of river and then meet the train at Rondowa for the return trip. All rafts, inflatable kayaks, fishing pontoons must be deflated and rolled for the train ride back up river. You will have to carry your boat up a short trail to load it on to the train. Hard Shell Kayaks will be allowed if you are able to carry them a short distance. You must reserve your train ride through Winding Waters in advance. You can also enjoy this trip from the train only. Board the train in Minam at 12:30pm for the scenic ride down the canyon to Rondowa where you will pick up the rafters. Ride back up river hearing the rafters describing their exciting ride down river.
