The Fishing Report

Wallowa River is Fishable!

Well Tom finally felt like the Wallowa river might serve up some decent fishing conditions so he headed down on Friday to check it out. The Grande Ronde was still flowing around 5,000cfs but it had leveled off there. Tom liked what he found when he got to the Wallowa. He found the water to be Green and about 37degrees. It was a bit higher than he would have liked making those seems a little smaller and closer to the edge of the river.

He spent the afternoon nymphing with the old Size 8 Red Winged Tungsten headed Prince Nymph. He caught a couple of nice Rainbows but was unable to find a hungry Steelhead. The Rainbows were pushing 18 inches so that made his day. We look forward to getting back down there this week to give it another go.
The water looks good it is just a little high yet. Stay tuned for an update later this week.
