Grande Ronde 1 Day Steelhead

Trip Description

October 1 – November 15, 2018: Grande Ronde River Steelhead are famous for being fighters on the line and therefore a thrill to catch. Let one of our expert fly fishing guides show you the secrets of catching Steelhead on this river. Our guides are experienced at guiding/teaching all skill levels from beginner to advanced. Full day fly fishing trips are priced per guide, and each guide can accommodate 1 or 2 anglers. The day includes: guide, boat, lunch, drinks, and any equipment that you may need such as waders, boots and a fly rod. The Grande Ronde River Steelhead fly fishing season is October through mid-November. Your guide will meet you in Troy, OR. Please inquire about lodging and camping options in Troy. Meet your guide at 8:00AMat the WWRE Troy Base (Log Cabin on the road behind the Troy Restaraunt) and plan to wrap up between 5:00 and 6:00PM

  • Meet your fly fishing guide in Troy, OR at the Winding Waters Troy Base at 8AM
  •  Joseph, OR to Troy, OR (approx. 1.25 hr drive)
  • Return to Troy between 5 and 6PM

Included in your Trip Cost:

  • All necessary gear, including waders, boots, and rods

Q: What type of fishing license do I need?
A: A 1 day Oregon fishing license. You can purchase one online prior to your trip or from our Boathouse Shop the day of your trip.

Q: Where do I meet for my trip?
A. We meet at our Winding Waters Base in Troy, OR, depending on prior arrangements

Q: What’s the youngest age you can take on this trip?
A: We can take children ages 7 and up.

Q: If we bring our own rod, what weight do you recommend?
A: For summer Rainbow Trout and Smallmouth Bass fishing, we use 4 or 5 weight rods. For spring and fall Steelhead, we use 7 or 8 weight rods.
