Outstanding weekend for my bachelor party. I can't recommend WWRE enough!

What a trip! Paul and his entire crew delivered an outstanding weekend for my bachelor party. I can't recommend WWRE enough! Top notch service, delicious food, amazing scenery, craft beers and cherished time spent catching up with friends on the river. A trip to be remembered and hopefully a trip to repeat in the future! If you haven't explored this part of the PNW, it's a must. With Ben on the grill, Lars on the oars and Barb behind the wheel, Paul and WWRE won't disappoint!

Head and shoulders over other rafting operations

Incredible experience. Head and shoulders over other rafting operations. Paul has set up an incredible operation. You won't be disappointed.

One of the best vacations I have had in a long time

This was one of the best vacations I have had in a long time. The crew served as our guides, our chefs, our hosts and our constant inspiration. The whole time I was on the river I was completely in the moment, forgetting any worries of the past or future. The food was incredible, the Salmon River beautiful and breathtaking, and the rowing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and swimming was all right up my alley - fun, refreshing, and challenging if you want it to be. I was actually part of a band that came on the trip, and we played music each night on the warm sand after dinner. It was a pretty memorable experience.

The best we have worked with, from the owners to the guides, all super professional

Best on the river. They're the best we have worked with, from the owners to the guides, all super professional.

Here in Georgia, we have returned to our busy lives, but thanks to WWRE, our minds and our souls are still on "river time".....

Where can one find the deepest gorge in North America where becoming "unplugged' is given a new meaning? That place is the ironically named Hell's Canyon. Sound too difficult? Scary? Too many unknowns? What if I told you that a high caliber, professional, experienced, safety conscious river crew existed in Joseph, Oregon to ensure that, indeed, your biggest task would involve replenishing your soul and reconnecting with yourself and your family while being constantly in awe of your surroundings? Winding Waters River Expeditions surpassed all of our expectations. We wanted our young son to know the canyon and the river where his father had spent time as a child, a place so dramatically different from the Deep South where our son was born and raised. We wanted an experience that would provide memories for a lifetime, stories that no one would be able to match, if only because few people journey to this part of the Snake River to experience its wild and scenic beauty. What makes WWRE the best in their business are the people. From my initial call to ask about three day vs. four day trips (BIG TIP HERE>> you will regret anything less than a 4 day trip, especially if you are traveling from anywhere in the eastern/southern U.S.; trust me on this!), to the Cessna plane flying out of the canyon to return us to Joseph, every detail has been thought of and considered. We enjoyed mouthwatering food for every single meal, locally grown and harvested, our personal farm to table restaurant for 4 days. Our son even learned how to identify and pick blackberries for our breakfast one morning (thank you, Brother Timo!). Every day of our trip involved lessons on the geology of the canyon and the history of the people who have passed through its walls. Our guides were patient, thorough, funny and cheerful, no small feat for folks who are working day and night to provide a memorable and safe experience for their clients. Many thanks to Paul and Penny (for your vision and commitment to growing a local business that has strengthened the bonds in the local community), Chef Hillary (for the incredible menus; we could never have imagined food this simple would taste this good!), Todd (for bookending our trip with your sunny smile and easygoing manner), Brian (for leading the way), Euell (for introducing E. to SUP), Jordan (for the river music), Sarah (for your patience with E's never ending barrage of questions), Timo (for the kayak lessons, sharing your knowledge of the Canyon's plant life, and for befriending E. so that he truly feels that you and Euell are his "brothers"), and Cpt. James Nash (for your grace under pressure, your tenacity in your quest to ensure the future of NE Oregon's rivers and natural beauty, and your unparalleled Wallow County sense of humor. You made my husband truly feel he was back home). Here in Georgia, we have returned to our busy lives, but thanks to WWRE, our minds and our souls are still on "river time".....

The food and accommodations are incredible

These folks are the finest. The rafting trip was fun, relaxing and most importantly- a great release into the wilderness. The food and accommodations are incredible, the guides are fun and great at what they do, and Paul and Penny are in it for the right reasons. We had a great time and will be back!

Great supporters of Terminal Gravity Brewing, as well as the local food scene in Eastern Oregon and beyond.

The folks are WWRE have been great supporters of Terminal Gravity Brewing, as well as the local food scene in Eastern Oregon and beyond. We are grateful for their business partnership and more importantly grateful for their friendship and support.

Knocking it out of the park in every way

Winding Waters is an example of a company/organization/family of people who are knocking it out of the park in every way. They just exude excellence! From the vibe of the trips, to the quality of the guides, the food, the gear, the boat-house, the safety standards, and attitudes of everyone involved - they're all 5-stars. Thanks, WWRE!

The crew and the customer service that really make the trip top notch

I have gone on countless trips with WWRE and I have loved every single one of them. It is an amazing way to get outside, clear your mind, and bond with friends/family. Plus, the rapids and the views are amazing. However, the crew and the customer service that really make the trip top notch. They are fun-loving, easygoing people who cook for you, set up camp for you, and have some great stories to tell. Although you are out in the wilderness they make the river feel like a luxury experience. If you're looking for something fun to do this summer going rafting with WWRE is a must!

Hands down has been the best family vacation we have ever taken!

This hands down has been the best family vacation we have ever taken! So great that we have gone on 4 trips with Winding Waters and have taken friends and family with us for memory-making and fun-loving experiences every time. We first went when our 2 daughters were entering their teen years. We laughed, played, relaxed and reconnected with the help of the Winding Waters team. This past summer our youngest graduated from high school and asked to take another trip as her graduation gift. We brought along 15 other family and friends to celebrate with us. The food is spectacular and the guiding is excellent. All we had to do was relax and have fun. It is the best river cruise ever!
